At IRYCIS 6 Priority Research Areas are established, each one coordinated by 2 directors, with a basic mission to: i) ensure the achievement of the objectives set for their area overall; ii) guarantee communication and collaboration between the different research groups; iii) guide the emerging groups and the associate clinical researchers to achieve their progressive integration into the consolidated group level.

    Dr. Javier Zamora

    Bachelor and Doctor of Biology from the Complutense University of Madrid, Master en Epidemiology and Public Health (URJC) and Master in R&D Management and Administration in Health Science (UAH). Currently he is Head of the Clinical Biostatistics Unit of the Ramón Hospital and Principal Investigator of the Epidemiology and Clinical Biostatistics Group. He is Head of the Research Group of the CIBER of Epidemiology and Public Health (CIBERESP), where he has been the coordinator of the Scientific Program of Clinical Epidemiology. He is also a Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Birmingham, where he develops research in Global Womens Health. Formerly, he has been Senior Lecturer at the Queen Mary University of London and a professor in different positions at the Complutense University of Madrid.

    He has held responsibilities in evaluating the National Research Plan during the last years in different organizations (ANEP, ISCIII) and as an expert advisor to the EMA and the AEMPS. His lines of interest are related to research methodology and biostatistics mainly in the field of synthesis research (Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis), prognostic and diagnostic research and evaluation of clinical practice. Author of more than 200 international articles with an h-index of 58 (WoS). His publications are widely cited, being included in the top 2% of most cited researchers worldwide (Stanford University Ranking, Version 5 Sept 2022)
