Translational Research and Innovation in Thoracic Surgery oriented towards Personalized Medicine

The Translational Research and Innovation in Thoracic Surgery for Personalized Medicine Group at Hospital Ramón y Cajal conducts multidisciplinary research focused on lung cancer and other complex thoracic diseases. Its research lines include minimally invasive and robotic surgery, personalized medicine, nanomedicine for early diagnosis, biomaterials for lung repair, patient-specific chest wall reconstruction, and perioperative care research. The group brings together experts in thoracic surgery, pulmonology, pathology, radiology, nursing, and biomedical engineering, fostering the translation of research findings into clinical practice through competitive research projects, multicenter studies, and technological innovation aimed at improving patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
