Milestones

  1. First commercial system for in vivo infrared imaging, PHOTON SWIR IMAGER, in collaboration with the company Biospace Lab (France), the result of scientific collaboration in the framework of the European project H2020 FET-Open NanoTBTech-801305, where we demonstrate the potential of the nanoparticles studied for imaging and nanothermometry. 2. Success in competitive HR calls: 3 postdoctoral contracts (Ramón y Cajal; "Maria Zambrano", Juan de la Cierva) and 2 "Investigo" contracts for junior researchers.
  3. Success of the group initiating 5 new competitive public projects funded by the MICIIN and the Community of Madrid.
  4. The group has actively participated in scientific conferences and congresses giving 24 papers, including 9 invited talks and 1 plenary.
  5. Reading of three PhD theses; 1) Synthesis and Characterization of Near Infrared-Active Nanoparticles for Bioimaging; 2) Optical trapping of colloidal upconverting nanoparticles above room temperature; 3) Effects of resuscitation intensity on inflammatory response and miRNAs expression in an animal model of sepsis.
