  2. The group has achieved success in participating in European funding calls, securing funding under the HORIZON-MSCA-2025-PF call within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (out of more than 17,000 applicants, 9.6% success rate). This project, which will allow Dr. Fernando Maturi to join the group, aims to integrate near-infrared imaging, 3D bioprinting, and machine learning to improve tumor margin detection.
  3. Francisco Sanz was promoted to full professor, the highest level in the university career, in recognition of his outstanding academic record.
  4. Leyre Aldaz, Liyan Ming, and Mario de la Fuente successfully defended their doctoral theses on the development of nanothermometry in tissues, the synthesis and characterization of sulfur-based nanomaterials for sensor applications, and the metabolic and cardiovascular effects of tea extracts, thus reflecting the broad scope of research covered at nanoBIG.
  5. A fluorescence half-life imaging (FLIM) microscopy system was implemented in the visible and near-infrared (NIR) regions.
