Milestones

  1. Award of the Community of Madrid's Synergistic R&D Project "Reprogramming the Tumor Microenvironment Through Microbiome-Derived Immunomodulatory Molecules," coordinated by Dr. Sergio Serrano-Villar and Dr. Bruno Sainz.
  2. Participation in the COST action "Infogut," funded by the European Union, which aims to develop and standardize complex in vitro models to study the interactions between the gut microbiota and the host, focusing on clinical and regulatory applications, generating consensus at the European level, reducing technical difficulties, and fostering innovation.
  3. Participation in several consensus documents, clinical protocols, and technical documents: (1) GeSIDA consensus document on occupational and non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis against HIV, HBV, and HCV in adults and children; (2) GeSIDA and Spanish Society of Preventive Medicine, Public Health, and Healthcare Management consensus document on immunization in adults with HIV; (3) "Management of multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacilli infections in adult solid organ transplant recipients: GESITRAIC/SEIMC, CIBERINFEC, and SET recommendations update."
  4. Mobility of the group's research staff as part of their competitive contracts. Completion of 4 international research stays: University of Oslo (Norway), University of San Francisco/San Francisco General Hospital (United States), University of Trento (Italy), HIV Cure Research Center (Belgium). Dr. Elena Moreno's stay at the company Mikrobiomik to complete her Marie Skłodowska-Curie Excellence Contract.
