Strategic objectives

  • Development of protocols for applying virtual planning techniques in different types of surgery.
  • Development of computer-assisted systems for verifying surgical results after treatment of tumors, deformities, and trauma, especially in the cranio-maxillofacial area.
  • Implementation of 3D model printing and bioprinting techniques with the aim of improving tissue regeneration and repair techniques, especially at the level of the bone skeleton.
  • Development of algorithms for evaluating clinical and radiological images using artificial intelligence techniques to improve the diagnosis of pathologies in the craniofacial region.

Research lines

  • Computerized image-based surgical simulation, including virtual reality.
  • Automated intraoperative verification of surgical results based on digital images.
  • Personalized craniofacial reconstructive surgery: virtual designs and 3D printing.
  • Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in early diagnosis and outcomes in head and neck cancer.
  • Innovative tissue regeneration and repair techniques.
