  • Equipment
    • The Clinical Biostatistics Unit has software developed by the members of the Unit: Meta-DiSc, calculators, macros, PRESTA, etc.
    • The Unit also has the following statistical packages:SAS v9.3, SPSS v17, Stata v14, R v2.11, nQuery v7.0.
  • Noteworthy
    • Attends around 550 appointments a year and gives courses on "Introduction to statistics," "Multivariant regression models," "Survival analysis" and "Multilevel regression models,"  and coordinates critical reading sessions of the medical literature.
    • Accredited capacity for collaboration with other research groups, wide range of co-authorship of publications and  participation in the collaborative research structures promoted by the ISCIII (CIBER and RETICS).
    • Since September 2013, the Collaborator Centre for the Community of Madrid of the Cochrane Ibero-American Centre resides at the Clinical Biostatistics Unit, via a collaboration agreement between Rey Juan Carlos University and IRYCIS.

    **Consult prices with the unit

    Offers advice on research methodology and biostatistics. The advice covers aspects from the design of studies to the planning, execution of the analyzes and the interpretation of the results.

    Study design support

    Help in choosing the type of study that can best respond to the proposed objectives and the type of hypotheses associated with them, determining the necessary sample size, appropriate statistical methods and generating randomization lists for Clinical Trials and other Experimental Studies, adapted to the designs of each study.


    Support in performing the statistical analysis of studies

    Help in the design of data collection sheets and data files, choice and performance of the appropriate statistical tests to respond to the objectives and hypotheses raised and interpretation of the results.


    Support for the dissemination of results

    Help in the process of writing and reviewing articles


    Methodological support 

    Evaluation and synthesis of scientific evidence and the formulation of recommendations in the form of systematic reviews, clinical practice guides and technical reports.


    Training

    Introduction to statistics courses, introduction to research methodology, multivariate regression models (including multilevel), survival analysis, systematic reviews and meta-analysis (28-hour courses)
