SCIENTIFIC PROJECT MANAGER (JUNIOR)

EATRIS coordination and support is looking for a Scientific Project Manager to expand the current Science Team and EU Grants Management capacity (36-40 hours per week). The Scientific Project Manager will primarily support the implementation of two newly-funded EU projects involving large consortia of leading European life science research infrastructures, including EATRIS.

-          ISIDORe, a three-year Horizon Europe - Research Infrastructures project, which started in February 2022. ISIDORe proposes to assemble the largest and most diverse research and service providing instrument to study infectious diseases in Europe with expertise from structural biology to clinical trials. In particular, it aims to accelerate the generation of new knowledge and tools to help control SARS-COV-2 and epidemic prone pathogens.

-          CanSERV, a three-year Horizon Europe - Research Infrastructures project, starting in May or June 2022. CanSERV's mission is to make cutting-edge and customised research services available to the cancer research community EU wide, enable innovative R&D projects and foster precision medicine for patients benefit across Europe. Users will have access to a comprehensive united catalogue of oncology services from world-class European life science RIs.

Main responsibilities for the job involve the coordination of scientific services deliveries by EATRIS member institutions (service providers) and the definition and update of our catalogue of translational services together with the monitoring of budget consumption. Additional tasks include the engagement of the EATRIS scientific community in close cooperation with the EATRIS science team.

Location: The Netherlands (Remote within Europe also considered)

Requisitos

  • Advanced degree in a biomedical science field (PhD)
  • Minimum 1-3 years of EU research project management experience
  • Familiarity with the European Research Infrastructure ecosystem is a plus
  • Familiarity with EU funding programmes is a plus
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating work across many research institutions
  • Team player, self-motivated, service-oriented, flexible
  • Able to prioritise and meet agreed deadlines
  • A proactive approach to work
  • Outstanding organisational skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience of working in an international environment is essential
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to travel when required for project meetings
